A new book for children ages 4 and up teaches children a "red-flag" approach to keeping themselves and their bodies safe. "I Said No!: A Kid-to-Kid Guide for Keeping Private Parts Private" was written by Zach King, a surfer kid who had a bad experience at a sleepover, and his mom, Kimberley King, a navy wife and kindergarten teacher with a master's degree in early childhood education.

The book usues a simple and direct approach to teach children red-flag behavior and easy-to-remember responses to them. "I Said No!" covers a variety of topics, including: what's appropriate and with whom, how to deal with inappropriate behavior, bribes and threats, when and where to go for help, what to do if the people you're asking for help don't listen, dealing with feelings of guilt and shame, and more.

The colorful paperback uses kid-friendly illustrations by Sue Rama to help parents discuss this sometimes difficult but vital subject area with their kids.
