CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The West Virginia Bureau for Children and Families has a new interim commissioner.

Department of Health and Human Resources Secretary Rocco Fucillo has appointed Douglas M. Robinson to the post.

Fucillo was appointed to the bureau commissioner's job in February before being named acting secretary of DHHR when Dr. Michael Lewis stepped down.

Robinson has been the bureau's deputy commissioner of operations. He began his career with DHHR in 1993 in various administrative capacities.

The bureau administers programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and child and adult protective services.

Robinson is a Fairmont native. He earned degrees from Fairmont State and Marshall universities.
