Appalachian Children's Chorus open enrollment set Sunday

August 20, 2013

The Appalachian Children's Chorus (ACC) will host an open enrollment session for their 23rd season on Sunday, Aug. 25. It will be at 3 p.m. at Keenan Hall at the University of Charleston. They will conduct vocal assessments for placement into the choir best suited for the child.

Boys and girls in grades kindergarten through eighth grade, who love to sing, are encouraged to come out and learn more about ACC. Directors will hear the children sing to listen to their tone and quality for proper placement for optimal music education. Children will not need to come with a prepared song. ACC's Cora Voce choir, a program for high school girls in ninth through 12th grade, is also enrolling.

ACC accepts all children regardless of racial, religious, cultural and socio-economic background. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

The Appalachian Children's Chorus is the official children's chorus of West Virginia as well as the official ambassadors of music for the state. ACC's mission is personal excellence, a quality music education and extraordinary opportunities for all of West Virginia's youth.
