Migrations Bring Tourists

May 22, 2017
OVParent

Animals migrate (travel) in search of food or better habitats. This migration sometimes attracts human interest: People may plan vacations to view these fascinating mass movements.

For tourists who visit Africa, the "great migration" includes zebra, wildebeest, and GAZELLE. People may board ships to spot the HUMPBACK WHALE. Protected beach areas allow hatching SEA TURTLE babies to scramble into the ocean for their lengthy swim. One animal's migration -ARCTIC TERN - covers half the Earth. Visitors even travel to places like Monterey, Calif., to see the MONARCH BUTTERFLY and Hinckley, Ohio, to witness the lowly BUZZARD or VULTURE.
