Surviving Disney:
Don’t Let Dreams Turn to Nightmares

So, you’re taking the plunge and taking the family to Walt Disney World. Before making any plans, check out these tips and important information provided by Penny Milhorn of Colerain, an authorized Disney vacation planner.

1. Check out Disney’s FASTPASS Service and spend less time waiting in longer lines.

2. A “rider swap” program lets both parents enjoy a ride — one parent waits with the child while one parent rides a ride. Afterwards, the other parent can board the ride with minimal wait time.

3. Lockers, ATMs and photography services are located in all parks.

4. Travel light! Any gifts or souvenirs purchased within Walt Disney World Resort can be delivered to your Disney Resort hotel room free of charge.

5. When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, you can visit your room for a nap before returning to the park to watch fireworks at night!

6. Keep your itinerary simple and reserve time for unexpected magic!

7. Florida can have plenty of warm weather, so don’t forget to pack sunglasses, hats and sunscreen. And, of course, comfortable shoes!

8. Parks and resorts are stroller accessible. Length-of-stay stroller rentals are available if you don’t want to bring your own.

9. Baby Care Centers are located in all four Disney theme parks and feature private rooms with rocking chairs for nursing mothers, diaper-changing rooms, and feeding rooms with high chairs, bibs and plastic spoons. There are even diapers, formula and teethers for sale!

10. Cribs, bed guard rails, baby-sitting services and child-care programs are available in resort hotels.
